Simplified Donut Holes!

"1 Package of biscuits (home style)
cut each biscuit into 4 then roll them into balls.
Put them in the deep fryer for about 5 minutes(make sure they are cooked all the way). Then mix together 1-2 cups sugar and about 1/4-1/2 cup cinnamon to your liking and a tiny bit of orange zest(I didnt have any this time but would reccomend it.) When the donut holes are done then all you need to do is mix them in the bag with the cinnamon and sugar and eat they are oh so good!! here are some pictures of it below."

St. Patty who?

I've always wondered--why in the world do we celebrate someone that is clearly from another country? I still don't know the answer, but here and here may help explain the reason. It also has fun party ideas. (at this point in my life I can't see me EVER planning a St. Patrick's Day party, but maybe someday when I'm a crazy mother of 3 I will)

I'm not sure a Valentines theme would be worth it to do with these, but something else that would be appropriate for all year round would sure be fun.

Great gift for a mother

Cute Photo Holders

I have tons of these laying around the house. This is a fun and simple idea

Love an icy cold drink!

Mint Pomegranate Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of fresh lemonade
  • 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice
  • Fresh sprig of Mint
  • Berries or Citrus to garnish (if desired)

Directions:

1.Combine lemonade and pomegranate juice in tall glass over ice. Garnish with mint sprig and fresh berries or citrus.

Homemade Board books

You can find blank board books at http://www.barebooks.com/chunky.htm. They come in squares 5x5 and 8x8. They even have 8x10. HOW FUN! They only cost $1 or $1.50 wow~!

A fuzzy little friend

Too Cute! A fun and easy idea for Spring time treats. Found on Martha Stewart.com
Spring Cakes

This treat is modeled on one of the symbols of the season -- baby chicks. With their coconut feathers, nutty beaks, and confectionery details, the cakes aren't just eye candy; they're delicious, too.

To hatch one of these, you don't have to be an expert baker. Making a batch of chick cupcakes is a perfect task for novices, and kids will love to help. The result will be a whimsical hit at the table.

Decorating Tricks
1. An upside-down cupcake will become the body of a chick. Spread vanilla buttercream on a cupcake to anchor it to the serving plate while you are working. Use a small offset spatula to coat the sides thickly with frosting, and then mound more on top to create a dome shape.

2. Toasted shredded coconut, pressed into the frosting, stands in for fuzzy feathers. Hold the plate at an angle while applying the coconut so the excess falls back into the bowl.

3. Tiny eyes (which are made from snipped black licorice laces) are easy to place using tweezers. Larger features, such as the whole-almond beak and the red licorice feet and comb, can be pushed into the frosting by hand.

Cute Handwritten Fonts

Finally some cute and fun handwritten fonts here (they are free)!

Kids Room Decor

"When I was decorating my son's room my husband gave me a very steep budget so I used this idea: color copy pages of your favorite children's book and put them in frames. I already had these frames with mats (the gold is kind of ugly, but oh well!) but I'm sure you could find inexpensive frames that come with mats at Target or Roberts."

REMEMBER!

When I make Jay's 1st year baby book, add each month's milestones. It would be cute to find a picture to go with each one

Conference Gift Basket

A cute idea to make a gift for your visiting teachers. Especially inactive ones.

Composition notebooks from the dollar store with a little makeover

She added a bottle of water, a new pen, gum and life savers to complete the little conference gift.

An idea for those who are hard to find gifts for!

This girl talked about how her father is the hardest person to find gifts for. She decided that the solution was to only give him edible gifts. GREAT IDEA! She had given him ice cream with 2 toppings: homemade hot fudge and a crunchy topping, and a homemade trail mix.

This is what I've been looking for! It will save me and my [picky] relatives!!!!
It is made up of almonds, cashews, dried cranberries, raisins, sunflower seeds (shelled), and chocolate chips. Could add Walnuts.

"I dumped the mix into a large plastic Chinese take out container and added a ribbon and tag and another Father's Day is taken care of!"

File Folder Game Binder

This is a great idea of how to combine and carry all file folder games. There's not much to it which could be good to withstand little finger pulling and ripping!

http://ourcozynest.blogspot.com/2008/07/no-sew-quiet-books.html

She also mentions buying a laminator from Wal-Mart to laminating things at home by yourself. She says it's cheaper than getting it done. *Note to self:Look into this!

Bikini Bears

These could be so fun for our many California summer BBQs. Jay has a summer birthday too, so here's an easy party treat!

Snowman Doughnuts

HA! Love it

Block Ornaments

My mom would love these

"Got the wooden blocks at the craft store, painted each side, printed small pictures of the kids, placed a circle page pebble on top of each picture, cut around the page pebble and then adhered a picture/pebble to each side of the block. Finishing touch: Screwed some eyelet screws in the top & tied some ribbon on."
